In 2010, Hasbro decided to use the license for Blythe for their own items in a new line for Littlest Pet Shop. Hasbro combined two properties that both were previously produced by Kenner: Littlest Pet Shop and Blythe!
This line began with a few petite sized Blythe dolls, pets, and various items being sold. As part of this line, Hasbro produced journals, miniature backpacks, wristlets, tote bag, and small bag/cosmetic bag with photos of Takara Blythe dolls on them. Takara Blythe dolls are not sold in any store in the United States, so to find licensed items in a toy shop with Blythe dolls on them was a first!
Within a few years, the dolls changed style. Hasbro did a line of fairy type dolls and then a series of dolls from other countries. However, shortly after, the small Blythe dolls were completely changed to a new style.
In 2012, this new style was created to match the Littlest Pet Shop cartoon, which featured a character named Blythe Baxter. While the character has large eyes, the dolls resemble Polly Pocket much more than the previous Hasbro petite Blythe dolls.
